A Pink, French Starry Night

A Pink, French Starry Night

My husband, John, is a native Southern Californian. We are in California 4-5 times a year. It would be more often if we weren’t always so busy.

When we are there it is nothing but beach time, walking, walking some more, indulging in wonderful meals out and of course a little shopping. John and I enjoy our morning lattes and usually a very small snack for lunch, but for dinner it is going to be an event.

We thoroughly enjoy getting dressed for dinner and heading to one of our favorite spots. About three years ago we discovered a new restaurant in the village where our condo is named Jeune Et Joile. It is a nouvelle French restaurant in Carlsbad that just simply cannot be missed.

The warm welcome begins with the staff and continues with the gorgeous pink interior with a charming deco-inspired 90-seat bistro with the kitchen fully open and smack dab in the middle of the room.

As the chef puts the finishing touches on every meal, the well-trained staff lines up and eagerly anticipates his every move. Every server knows every ingredient of every dish. It has been rated one of San Diego’s most successful new restaurants.

With the onset of Covid, they have met the restaurant challenge with grace and success. Moving their guest seating outdoors has been such a treat to enjoy!

The beautiful Southern California landscape is perfectly appointed with olive trees and string lights...twinkling stars...starry night.

Covid or not, reservations are always required.

If you are in the area, give them a call and see if there is a table to be reserved. You will enjoy every bite, every moment of the atmosphere and every bit of attention paid to every detail.

A Votre Santé!
