Small Business and Big Pillows!
If you live in Nashville and shop with me, you know I’ve “done” pillows for four years now. I receive fabric from large furniture manufacturers. Never seconds, always top quality ends of bolts. When they get down to 4-5 yards of a fabric on a bolt they have no use for such a small amount of yardage. So, they sell to small businesses.
The same goes for designers who have small amounts of yardage left from client jobs. Remnants of two yards is about the smallest amount I’ll purchase. Less than that limits what I can offer customers.
I have a cutting room at home filled with nothing other than rolls of fabrics and pillow forms. I design each pillow and cut every inch of it myself. This assures that I get every usable square inch out of a fabric.
The pillows are manufactured a few miles from my shop by one of the most organized furniture fabrication companies I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. They have a separate division for drapes and a division for pillows and cushions. They manufacture 250-300 pillows for us each batch usually 5 or 6 times a year.
Our pillows are just one part of our small business. Rest assured it IS a small business. There is not one pillow that isn’t hand cut by me and then inspected by me before being placed on the shelves in the shop.
We are fortunate to receive top-notch designer fabrics and we purchase premium pillow forms made in Georgia. Our pillows range in price from $58-$78 and are available only in Nashville at the shop.
It really is a small BIG pillow business. We are happy to ship if you spy something on our Instagram page you would like to purchase.
